Is there one list of medals that is correct as every list I have seen has a different name for the same medal. HELP
----------------
There is an official Soviet list in Russian but translations do differ. The standard in English and German is usually Herfurth's "Sowjetische Auszichungen", now in its 4th edition. Then there is of course McDaniels. Oldrich

Hi, Although i believe that i dont have anything in my collection that would enrich your collection. The HSU that you have on offer would certainly enrich mine.
Let me know if you interisted in selling it or if you know of one for sale.

i have a pin that my uncle found in moscow, where he lives. It has a tank on the bottom and the sickle/hammer in the middle with the words "expert Tank" ... can anyone give me a source for some history on this particular pin?
----------------
Hi there, its a good pin, came in a number of variations, would have to see a scan, but basically all resembled each other, just the way they were made differed over the years. They were not numbered thus not traceable (except fo the periods when they changed form slightly). Its a part of a series - "otlichnik" tankist, machinegunner, driver, there were a couple of dozen. Fairly common, can cost from a 20 to 200 USD depending on wera and tear and rough age. Hope this helps, see my links page, I have a link to a pin site I believe.
