Thank you very much! =)
So, do you have any pics of pins and medals that officers had worn? I'd really like to have one, with hammer and sickle, if possible. Do you know where could i get the
? And what's the difference between the pin I have (the one with gold wreath) and the Red Star with sickle and hammer pin and only red star pin (with no sickle or hammer)?

Greetings,
Andrej
----------------
Andrwej I do not, there are specialised sites and books for that - but I just added a short video to the site (see top of home page)where you will see plenty pf real live veterans in their headgear with the pins! All very authentic.

I have "Soviet enlisted man's dress hat pin" and I want to know the rarity and the price and where could I get more red star pins. I'd like to know also who was wearing these pins, their rank and so on. I'm from Slovenia.

A picture of mine: http://www.sieglers.com/isroot/sovietski/ImagesOnline/catalog/300116.jpg

I'd like to get one of these: http://77pictures.com/Star.jpg

I'd also like to know how do I recognise it if ot is a fake or original.

Greetings,
Andrej

Dear Andrej,

these are very common insignia worn by Soviet enlisted personnel (rank and file - officers had fancier one's) on their head gear. I am no specialist, see my links page, there was a site with pins there for more. They are most likely, I would say 99.9999% original as they are very common (Soviets issued them in the millions and old stocks then went to tourists) and not made of precious metals or by special technologies, hope this helps,
Oldrich

Would you sell the order of the Red star?
I have a small collection of choice pieces and may be interested in buying.
Also could you please send me details on other medals you would sell.
----------------
Red Stars are not rare or expensive (unless they are special), I see from your email that you are in the UK, you should be able to get one easily there. In every case I normally do not sell medals but exchange, I am promarily a collector. Thank you for visiting, hope it was helpful to you! Oldrich

I wonder if it's possible to have informations about Russians soldiers who received the 1945 medal for the capture of Koenigsberg ?

I'm looking for some informations about Ivan Pastukhov. He received the medal number 147996 for the capture of Koenigsberg.

Thank for your help.

Regards.

No I am sorry but I do not, the only way would be in Soviet archives directly...but I tell you access is difficult, people make promises and never come through on them is my experience....

I just came back from Ukraine with a variety of medals incl. for instance an October Revolution order.

I also came back with something I am not sure of... it looks like a very early order of Lenin but it is distinctly different than the Tractor version (or copies of it) normally seen. It appears too different to be considered a copy yet I do not know what it is. Does have Goznak on both back and on screw. Also low serial number (009) on back.

Who can I send a picture to assess?

Thanks,

Bob

Bob you can send a scan to me or post it on the forum once you sign in, perhaps you have something importnat...

Hi, you have a great site! I'm not a big collector, but I have a question I hope you can answer. I recently purchased a complete Soviet General's service uniform (brown, double breasted service type). It already has rows of ribbons on the tunic, but I'd like to wear with all the Orders and medals I have collected over the years. I want to wear what is historically accurate, so my question is - were the orders/medals only worn on the "parade dress' uniforms, or can I get away with wearing them on the service dress as well? I've tried to research through photos but I can't make an authorized determination. Need expert advice. Thanks, Colonel Ken Johnson, US ARMY KOREA
